Project : Substance abuse Workshops
The students of The Shri Ram School, Moulsari visited a government senior secondary girls school in the Wazirabad district of Gurgaon and held a module on substance abuse with about 50 girls age between 13-18 years. We discussed the harmful effects of alcohol, drugs and tobacco through an interactive presentation. By sharing our personal experiences and stories to create an impact, we connected with them and helped them open up to us.
Following this session we had a question answer round to guide the students on how to deal with the basic problems they face in their surroundings with their relatives and friends by coming up with solutions and practical ideas.
Our points included assistance from their supportive school teachers and confiding in their mother and sisters. The children could also come to us personally for help if they felt reluctant to address their problems in public.
Students who went for the presentation were:
Vishnu Chopra 12-S
Tarini Khurana 12-C
Aarushi Joshi 12-S
Parth Sharma 12-S
Niharika Pendharkar 12 S
Mehar Sawhney 12-S
