LOWER SECONDARY PROGRAMME (GRADES 6-8)

Cambridge Lower Secondary provides schools with a flexible curriculum that can be developed and tailored to suit their specific needs. It offers adaptability and customisation to ensure a curriculum that aligns with the school’s needs and goals. The Lower Secondary programme is offered to students from Grades 6 to 8 at The Shri Ram School, Moulsari campus.
At The Shri Ram School, a well-defined curriculum framework is in place for each subject – English, Mathematics and Science. These frameworks provide a clear teaching structure and are designed to engage learners in an active and creative learning journey.

English

Cambridge Lower Secondary English enables learners to communicate confidently and effectively and to develop the skills to respond to a range of information, media and texts with understanding and enjoyment. Learners who follow this framework will develop a first language competency in English based on a curriculum designed to be successful in any culture while promoting cross-cultural understanding.

Mathematics

The curriculum framework explores six content areas: number, algebra, geometry, measure, handling data and problem-solving. The first five content areas are all underpinned by problem-solving, which provides a structure for the application of mathematical skills. Mental strategies play a crucial role in the number content. The curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships, enabling learners to apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject

Science

This curriculum framework encompasses four key content areas: scientific enquiry, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Scientific enquiry is about considering ideas, evaluating evidence, planning investigative work and data recording and analysis. The scientific enquiry objectives underpin Biology, Chemistry and Physics, which are focused on developing confidence and interest in scientific knowledge. The curriculum also includes environmental awareness and a historical perspective on science.
